How To Say ‘I’m Sad’ In Korean

This is how you would say I’m Sad in Korean: (나는) 슬퍼요. [(na-neun) seul-peo-yo]

오늘은 너무 슬퍼요.

I am very sad today.

슬픈 생각을 하면 우울해지는거 같애.

You just have learned how to say your new word.

A lot of times, Korean people do not have to start the sentence with ‘I’, therefore, mostly you could just say ‘슬퍼요’ and they will understand.

우울해요 [woo-ool-hae-yo] is commonly used to show that you are depressed, as 우울 [woo-ool] means depression in Korean.

When you are not in a good mood, you could say 기분이 안좋아요. [ghee-boon-ee an-jo-ah-yo], to say that you are not in a good mood.
